Women of Science & Technology Day

A Girl Scouts of Alaska signature event, Women of Science and Technology Day (WSTD) allows girls to experience science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) subjects through fun, hands-on workshops led by women working in STEM careers.

WSTD

Women of Science engages girls in STEM education in fun and relevant ways and encourages them to explore future careers in the fields of biology, ecology, veterinary medicine, geology and engineering, and many others.

Girl Scouts’ approach to STEM education is unique and effective. The processes used in Women of Science are girl led, encourage “learning by doing,” and foster an environment of cooperative learning.
