Camp Togowoods and Camp Singing Hills Open Houses

When: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2017
Event Description: Join Girl Scouts of Alaska at one or both of our camps as you spend the day outdoors participating in activities hosted by camp staff. Girls and families will be able to learn more about Girl Scout camp, participate in camp activities, tour our camp properties, and have fun! Girls must be accompanied by an adult. Start your holiday weekend off with a visit to Girl Scout camp!

Encampment 2017
Grades: Registered Girl Scouts entering grade 4 and above in fall 2017. Adults must be registered Girl Scouts.

Prince of Wales Outdoor Leadership Program for Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girls
Grades: Girls entering grades 6-12! You do not have to be a registered Girl Scout to attend.
Outdoor Leadership Dates: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (Tentative), June 12-13
Community Day Camp Dates: June 12-16
Where: Prince of Wales: Craig Youth Center
Event Description: This is a 2-day program for older girls to explore outdoor skills and leadership. During the first day of the program, girls will participate in outdoor skill-based activities as well as leadership training in an all older-girl setting. Activities will be hands-on, allowing for exploration and skill building. Girls will also learn the skills necessary to plan and teach an outdoor or science activity to younger girls. On the second day of the program, girls will Take Action by leading the activity they have planned at a community GS Day Camp. Upon completion of the activity, girls will participate in day camp activities and help counselors.
Cost: $5/girl

Wrangell Outdoor Leadership Program for Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girls
Outdoor Leadership Dates: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (tentative), June 15-16           
Community Day Camp Dates: June 12-16
Grades: Girls entering grades 6-12! You do not have to be a registered Girl Scout to attend.
Where: Wrangell, Shoemaker Bay Park
Event Description: This is a 2-day program for older girls to explore outdoor skills and leadership. During the first day of the program, girls will participate in outdoor skill-based activities as well as leadership training in an all older-girl setting. Activities will be hands-on, allowing for exploration and skill building. Girls will also learn the skills necessary to plan and teach an outdoor or science activity to younger girls. On the second day of the program, girls will Take Action by leading the activity they have planned at a community GS Day Camp. Upon completion of the activity, girls will participate in day camp activities and help counselors.

Registration Information

Adult and non-member information:
Non-member girls can become members by completing a Membership Form and paying the $20 annual membership fee.
Troops/groups must always have appropriate adult-to-girl ratios per Volunteer Essentials, unless otherwise noted in the event description.
Individual girl members must attend with an adult, unless otherwise noted in the event description. 
Tagalongs (children of any age who are not participating in the program) are not allowed at events, unless otherwise noted in the event description.

Financial assistance for Council-run events only:
Financial assistance is available to girls wanting to attend Council-run event. A completed Financial Assistance Request Form needs to be attached to the Event Registration Form.

Cancellation policy for Council-run events only:
Cancellation requests are required in writing (e-mail preferred) to Kelly at kfitzgerald@girlscoutsalaska.org.
If a troop/group or individual cancels after the registration closing date, all money paid becomes nonrefundable unless we can fill the space(s) from the wait list. 
If we cancel an event, all money received will be refunded. 
Waitlisted individuals will be refunded after the event occurs.
