November 1
Juliette Gordon Low Birthday Celebration and Bridging and Awards Ceremony, Sitka
Grades: K-12
When: 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 1
Location: Blatchley Middle School multi-purpose room
Event description: Join the Sitka Service Unit for a birthday celebration for Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low. The day’s festivities will also include a bridging and awards ceremony. 
Cost: $0

November 14
Discovering Alaska’s Treasures – Natural Resources Patch Series, Anchorage
Grades: 2-5
When: Saturday, November 14
–9 a.m.-noon and/or
–12:45-3:45 p.m.
Location: BP Tower lobby (corner of New Seward Hwy. and Benson Blvd.) 
Event description: All registered girls are invited to join the South Anchorage Service Unit for a badge-earning workshop. The Natural Resources Patch Series is exclusive to GSAK! Learn about energy, forestry, minerals, and natural resources. Girls who attend both sessions can earn up to three badges. 
Cost: $6 for one session, $10 for both sessions
To register: E-mail the registration form and event permission slip to Megan Carr by Monday, November 2.
Note: Girls should bring a sack lunch and water bottle.

November 14
Earn Your Wings Day, Anchorage 
Grades: 2-12
When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, November 14
Location: PenAir Hangar, 6100 Boeing Avenue, Anchorage (From the intersection of Northern Lights and Minnesota, proceed westbound 3 miles, then turn left on Boeing Avenue. The event hangar is the larger one on the left.) 
Event description: The sky’s the limit when we join Women in Aviation International and PenAir for a fun-filled day of all things aviation. Girls can meet pilots, tour planes, and try a takeoff on a flight simulator.
Cost: $5/girl, $0/adult 
Note: This event is open to ALL girls, regardless of Girl Scout membership.

November 21
Women of Arts, Chugiak
Grades: K-12
When: Saturday, November 21
–9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. – girls in grades K-3
–1-4:30 p.m. – girls in grades 4-12
Location: United Methodist Church of Chugiak, 16430 Old Glenn Highway
Event description: Yarn art, dance, ceramics, macrame, beading, and more… Join the Chugiak/Eagle River Service Unit for its second annual Women of Arts event! This event is open to ALL registered Girl Scouts, regardless of Service Unit.
Cost: $20 for half day (includes three sessions, snack, and patch), $35 for full day (includes six sessions, snack, lunch, and patch)

November 21
Citizen Science Saturday, Chugiak – CANCELLED
Grades: 4-6
When: 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, November 21
Location: Camp Singing Hills, Chugiak 
Event description: Investigate the seasons with SciGirls, a PBS KIDS television series, website, and outreach program dedicated to teaching STEM subjects to girls. Join us for a special screening of Season 3, Episode 2: Flower Power, and then see what’s happening with the plants and animals in your own backyard.
Cost: $5/girl, $0/adults

Note: This event is open to ALL girls, regardless of Girl Scout membership. Registration closes 5 p.m. Friday, November 13.

November 24
Great Alaska Shootout, Anchorage – THIS EVENT IS FULL 
Grades: K-12
When: 6-10 p.m. Tuesday, November 24
Location: UAA Alaska Airlines Center, Anchorage
Event description: Cheer on the Seawolves at the Great Alaska Shootout. Enjoy the first round of the women’s games from the GCI Block Party section and maybe see yourself on the big screen!
Cost: $0 (tickets courtesy of GCI) 
Note: Min/max of 20 girls. Pre-registration required. Girls are encouraged to wear their uniform or other Girl Scout attire.

December 1
UAA Dance & Theater, Anchorage
Grades: K-5
When: 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, December 1
Location: Harper Studio, UAA Fine Arts Bldg., Anchorage
Event description: Take a behind-the-scenes tour, dance, and play interactive theater games with UAA dance and theater students. 
Cost: $5/girl
Note: Max of 24 girls 

December 5
Rock Climbing, Mat-Su
Grades: Girls in grades 4-12 and adults 
When: 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, December 5
Location: Rock-On Climbing, Wasilla 
Event description: Scale new heights at Rock-On Climbing, the Valley’s only full-service climbing gym! Girls and adults can challenge themselves with climbing, bouldering, and slacklining at this special GSAK event.
Cost: $25/climber, $0/spectator (non-climber)
Note: Minimum 10 participants, maximum 50 participants. Waiver form required. 

December 9
Paint Your Own Pottery Night, Anchorage 
Grades: K-12
When: 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 9
Location: Color Me Mine, Anchorage
Event description: Pick either a mug or a plate to paint (first come, first served) at this special GSAK open studio night at Color Me Mine. Projects will be available for pick up 7-10 days after the event.
Cost: $17/girl
Note: Maximum of 50 girls; pre-registration required. Supplies are limited to one project per person, but if you would like to paint more than one piece, they may be purchased directly from Color Me Mine.

December 12
Breakfast with Santa, Anchorage
Grades: All ages – event is open to the general public
When: 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 12
Location: St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Anchorage
Event description: Breakfast, pictures with Santa, arts and crafts, and a gift for every child! 
Cost: $10/girl, $5/adult 
Note: This event is sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 65. Purchase tickets by Monday, December 7 from troop leader Kim Ballard, 907-229-9240

December 12
Out of This World – Stars of the Alaska Sky, Anchorage 
Grades: K-12
When: 10-11 a.m. Saturday, December 12
Location: UAA Planetarium & Visualization Theater
Event description: Have you ever looked up at the night sky and wondered what you were seeing? Join us for an exclusive GSAK show at UAA’s Planetarium and Visualization Theater to learn about constellations and more.
Cost: $8/girl, $7/adult 
Note: Space is limited – maximum of 60 participants, including adults.

January 2
Gymnastics Clinic, Anchorage
Grades: 2-6
When: 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Saturday, January 2
Location: UAA Alaska Airlines Center
Event description: Join UAA’s gymnastics team for a clinic on gymnastics fundamentals and the importance of fitness!
Cost: $9/girl, $0/adult
Note: All girls must bring a signed waiver form to attend.

January 18
Winter Wonderland, Eagle River 
Grades: 4-12
When: 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, January 18 
Location: Eagle River Nature Center
Event description: Join Eagle River Nature Center naturalists for an in-depth look at life in winter. Learn about human and animal adaptations and survival skills while exploring the Nature Center on snowshoes.
Cost: $15/girl, $0/adult
Note: Maximum of 24 girls. Bring a sack lunch, snacks, and water bottle. Event will be rescheduled if temperature is below zero.

January 22
‘Doctor Who’ Party, Anchorage
Grades: 4-12
When: 6-8 p.m. Friday, January 22
Location: Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, Anchorage
Event description: Join Girl Scout Troop 147819 for a “Doctor Who” party! Food, games, prizes, a “Doctor Who” episode, and a fun patch. Costumes encouraged!
Cost: $8/girl

January 30
Women of Science & Technology Day, Homer
Grades: K-12
When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, January 30
Location: Islands and Ocean Visitor Center, Homer  
Event description: Join women professionals working in STEM careers for a day of workshops and fun. This event is open to ALL girls, regardless of Girl Scout membership. 
Cost: $6/girl, $0/adult
Note: Girls should bring a sack lunch, snacks, and water bottle. Girls must attend with an adult troop leader or guardian. Early registration is appreciated, but day-of registration is welcome.

January 30
Ice Skating with Family & Friends, Wasilla
Grades: Girls in grades K-12 and their friends and family
When: 3:45-4:45 p.m. Saturday, January 30
Location: Brett Memorial Ice Arena, Wasilla
Event description: Join the Wasilla Service Unit for an afternoon of ice-skating! This event is open to ALL Girl Scouts and their family and friends, regardless of troop or Service Unit.
Cost: $4/person
Note: Register by filling out and submitting the registration form. Deadline to register is 4 p.m. Saturday, January 23. Troop leaders must bring permission slips and health forms to the event. Patches are $1 each. Dress warmly! Skates are included in the price of the event, but bring your own if you have them as sizes are limited.  

Registration Information

Adult and non-member information:
Non-member girls can become members by completing a Membership Form and paying the $20 annual membership fee.
Troops/groups must always have appropriate adult-to-girl ratios per Volunteer Essentials, unless otherwise noted in the event description.
Individual girl members must attend with an adult, unless otherwise noted in the event description. 
Tagalongs (children of any age who are not participating in the program) are not allowed at events, unless otherwise noted in the event description.

Financial assistance:
Financial assistance is available to girls wanting to attend an event. A completed Financial Assistance Request Form needs to be attached to the Event Registration Form.

Cancellation policy:
Cancellation requests are required in writing (e-mail preferred) to Database & Customer Service Specialist Danielle Morrow.
If a troop/group or individual cancels after the registration closing date, all money paid becomes nonrefundable unless we can fill the space(s) from the waitlist. 
If we cancel an event, all money received will be refunded. 
Waitlisted individuals will be refunded after the event occurs.
