Earth Day at UAA

April 22 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

UAA’s Art & Education Department brings Earth Day to Girl Scouts! Join in on the fun as girls make seed bombs, bird feeders, and sun catchers. Activities also include a water filter experiment, nature walk/species scavenger hunt and earthquake proofing challenge.

When: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., April 22, 2017 (Girls should be dropped off and picked up at the Fine Arts Building, UAA in Anchorage. Parents and leaders can drop the girls or they can stay)
Where: UAA Fine Arts Building, 3700 Alumni Loop

Girls are asked to bring some sort of donation item like the ones listed below. Donated items will be given to local charities and schools. 

  • non-perishable food item, books in good condition
  • gently used clothing items such as shirts, jackets, pants, or shoes
  • clean disposable water bottle, milk  cartons

Agenda for the day (divided by age or by activity)

  • Name tags
  • Break-out sessions (divided by age or by activity)
  • Nature walk (Group)
  • Seed-bomb crafting
  • Bird feeders
  • Puppet show/song/skit final presentation
  • Sun catchers
